Wise Referral Code

Wise (formerly TransferWise) provides multi-currency accounts, debit cards and low-cost international transfers at the mid-market rate. Its referral program is unusually variable, which is why the figures you find online rarely match what you see in your own app.

There is no single Wise referral offer, which is why every figure you find online contradicts the next one. Wise's own referral terms state that the program runs at Wise's sole discretion and that the requirements — whether you are eligible at all, how many friends you need to invite, what reward you may receive and the conditions attached — are set out on your own invite page and change from time to time. Two Wise users in the same country can be on different programs.

The structure most commonly seen across markets gives the referrer roughly £75 once three invited users each complete a qualifying transfer of around £200, with the new user receiving a fee-free first international transfer up to about £500 or, in some regions, a free debit card. Treat that as one variant rather than the offer.

Several rules are constant regardless of variant, and they are where people lose money.

Rewards expire. You have one year from the point a referral qualifies to claim it; after that it is forfeited. Each invite can only count toward one referral program — you cannot have the same friend qualify you twice across variants. Your friend must sign up through your link; there is no way to attach the referral afterwards. And the transfer has to be genuine cross-currency activity, not a transfer to yourself.

When a reward is paid, it goes to your Wise account or to a bank account held in your own name, in most currencies Wise supports — you choose from the available list at the point of claiming.

One further caveat on the guest side: fee-free transfer vouchers cover Wise's own transfer fee, not taxes or third-party charges outside Wise.

Open the invite page in your Wise app before quoting any number. It is the only version that applies to you.
